fatal fingers Saturday, Sep 29 2007

you offered a tempting prize
and i devoured your delicious lies
like a poisoned dog licking
the bacon grease from your fatal fingers

color blind Saturday, Sep 29 2007

what if red was green
and black was white
but you didn’t know it
til you ran the light

Saturday Night Cross Saturday, Sep 29 2007

she hides it ‘neath her shirt
accustomed to it’s “shiny” feel
cold and warm together
comforted and condemened
by it’s presence…

Fly Saturday, Sep 29 2007

I told you I could fly
You laughed and said no way
I let you believe I believed you
Then as you turned to leave
I flew to the rooftop and spat on your hat

test drive Saturday, Sep 29 2007

he gets into the leather seat and sighs
turns the key and the cat comes to life
his boots rest on shop towels as
he merges the jag onto the interstate
80, 90, faster and faster
his heartbeat matching the speedometer
cool air blowing
sting on the radio
man
machine
music
he could go on like this forever
and for five minutes and fifteen miles
he does

PLAYHOUSE Thursday, Sep 13 2007

I’m trimming the candles’ bangs, so it doesn’t smoke,
Every well dressed lamp wears a necklace or two.
An antique chair is fitted with a golden blouse,
And a mink stole graces the chaise lounge.
Highheels dangle from towel racks
And Cinderella dresses all aglow
Are suspended over glass tables laden with Cherubs and clocks.
Old movie stars hang out with children and grand children.
In ornate and dollar tree frames.
Sweet puppies, present and past “speak to us”
All through the day and night.
Enya and Fred (Hammond and Eaglesmith} take a spin on the turntable
Fancy feather mask watch over us all
Making sure no one sees through our many disguises
